Now spring has arrived, members of Spencer Melksham Bowls Club are busy preparing for the beginning of the 2023 season and to welcome new female players, they will be holding a ladies’ morning on Saturday 22nd April.
Organisers said, “We have a packed season of matches including men’s and ladies’ league matches, mixed friendlies, club championships and our friendly club team competition.
“The ladies’ section is always looking to welcome new players of all abilities to join us and for the second year running we are holding a Ladies’ Morning on Saturday 22nd April, from 10am to 1pm at our club on Beanacre Road.
“Please come along and join us at any time that morning. You can be assured of a warm welcome, a short introduction to playing bowls along with a cup of coffee and some cake. All you need will be flat shoes and comfortable clothes.
“The photograph shows our 2022 captain Eileen Hawker, presenting the incoming 2023 captain Claire Edwards, with the Ladies’ Championship Cup for 2022. Who knows, maybe in a few years’ time, it could be a picture of you being crowned as Ladies’ Club Champion!”
