The Melksham Virtual Gardener’s Show is well under way, with two weeks left to showcase fruit, flowers and vegetables grown in the Melksham area.
With the cancelled Flower and Produce Show, Melksham Town Council and Melksham Gardeners’ Society have created an online opportunity for residents to display the rich array of produce being harvested across Melksham this summer. It runs throughout September, on the Town Council facebook page, with a category for each day. Highlights so far have included roses, cherry tomatoes and the children’s category of a jar of garden flowers.
If you would like to share your photographs, the following categories are still available: Thursday 17th – Potatoes. Friday 18th – Apples. Saturday 19th – Children: drawing/painting of a flower. Monday 21st – Salad tomatoes. Tuesday 22nd – Group of dhalia blooms. Wednesday 23rd – Basket of herbs. Thursday 24th – Fuchsia. Friday 25th – Any other fruit. Saturday 26th – Children: any animal created from fruit and vegetables. Monday 28th – Marrow/courgette. Tuesday 29th – Funny misshapen vegetables.
Email your photographs to miriamzaccarelli@melksham-tc.gov.uk before the featured day.
