VOLUNTEERS were out in force at the weekend to clear Melksham town centre of litter.
Bags of litter were collected at the monthly event organised by South West in Bloom Melksham.
A spokesperson for the event said, “Massive thanks to everyone who turned out for this month’s Town Tidy, a huge amount of various litter was collected. Well done to all involved.”
Future Town Tidy Days will be held on the first Sunday of every month from 1-3pm, meeting outside the Town Hall for registration. Once registered, volunteers will be covered by the Town Hall’s volunteer insurance.
Organisers say, “Litter pickers, refuse bags and rings will be provided, but please bring your own gloves and any other equipment you may prefer to use.
“Please dress for the weather and working conditions and bring a drink. All ages and abilities welcomed.”
