A community centre in the heart of Melksham is calling for more volunteers to help the running of the facility.
The Riverside Centre is a charity run by volunteers and is located on the edge of King George V Park.
Chair of the facility Chris Pickett, is inviting more volunteers to come forward. He said, “Over the past few years some of those volunteering, have understandably, gotten older and would like to hand the reins onto younger people. We meet as a committee four times a year but hope that members will assist when needed to deal with any issues that might come up to do with the maintenance of the building and its grounds.
“The Riverside Centre is a well-placed hall, alongside the River Avon, with great facilities, which are often commented on when someone hires the hall. It has a bright and warm atmosphere and the acoustic tiles helps with conversation when groups attend functions.”
If anyone is interested in applying for the role of volunteer, contact The Riverside Centre by ringing 07493 301755.
