Due to illness we were depleted in numbers, which was a shame as some missed a very informative talk by John and Margaret Bowden about Oman.
We learnt about the different Muslim religions, the history and cultures. We were shown sunny pictures of the spectacular scenery and towns in Oman. John and Margaret lived there for a few years and we were told what a friendly and welcoming place it was and how well they got on with the people of Oman.
We wish all our members a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing them for our annual meal out at Shaw Country Hotel. I hope they will all be fully fit for our next meeting on Monday 12th February at 7.30pm at the Village Hall, Shaw, when we have a visit from The Air Ambulance.
