Melksham Assembly Hall has a variety of events planned over the next few weeks, from the Giants of Rock ‘24, to the soundtrack of a whole generation in one night. See below for all the details.
Giants of Rock ‘24 – Saturday 16th March, 7.30pm
In a rock showdown, tribute bands performing the classics of Guns ‘n’ Roses and Bon Jovi go head-to-head to take you back to the ‘glory days’ of rock.
The Guns ‘n’ Roses Experience recreate the energy of renowned rockers Gun ‘n’ Roses performing classics such as Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child O’ Mine. Every note will have you convinced you’re in the presence of Axl, Slash and the gang themselves. Immerse yourself in the nostalgia of one of the greatest rock bands ever to grace the stage!
Pure Jovi – Timeless hits such as Livin’ on a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive will convince you that it’s Bon Jovi himself. “Feel the arena-rock magic as our remarkable Bon Jovi tribute takes you on a journey through the band’s timeless hits,” say the organisers. Experience the anthems that have shaped generations.”
The Carpenters – Masquerade – Friday 12th April, 7.30pm
The show will take the audience through a story of the Carpenters, performed by top musicians.
Organisers said, “Come with us through various points of Karen’s life, from the origins of the Dick Carpenter trio through to Karen’s premature passing. Sit back, relax and celebrate with us the legacy that is the Carpenters.”
Meat Loud – Saturday 13th April, 7.30pm
This show has been branded the ultimate tribute to Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman and will include a performance of the album Bat Out of Hell in its entirety, as well as songs from other Meat Loaf albums.
Meat Loud was founded in 2015 by vocalist Andy Plimmer along with the band from The Rocky Horror Experience. They cover many of the songs from the Meat Loaf Back catalogue as well as some of the Steinman classics by Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and Cher. The second half of the show is a complete performance of the 1977 classic album Bat Out of Hell.
The Time of Our Lives – The Soundtrack of a Generation – Friday 19th April, 7.30pm
Hits from classic movies will be performed by a seven-piece band. Hop in the DeLorean and travel back in time to an unforgettable era of timeless and classic movies! Awaken that nostalgia and dance the night away to all the beloved hits from the ‘80s classics. Featuring Don’t You Forget About Me, St. Elmo’s Fire, Footloose, Danger Zone, Johnny B. Goode, Hungry Eyes and many more.
The New Jersey Boys – Thursday 25th April, 7.30pm
The tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons returns. The choreographed show features the falsetto voice of Einar Vestman and the humour of entertainer Gary Gould.
Back by overwhelming public demand, this hit show continues to play to sell-out audiences and standing ovations throughout the United Kingdom. The evening guarantees an evening of fast-moving entertainment with superb harmonies, stunning solo spots and light comedy.
As well as all the hits from the Four Seasons, the packed two-set programme includes tributes to other legendary performers such as Elton John, Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner.
