Whitehall Garden Centre has proudly presented a cheque totalling £2,370 to the charity ‘Greenfingers’ which creates magical garden spaces for children’s hospices.
As part of the national ‘Garden Re-leaf Day’ event, staff from Whitehall in Lacock and their sister branch in Whitchurch organised a number of fundraising activities including a wishing tree and children’s craft activities, where customers purchased a leaf and wrote their wish on it to place on a cherry tree.
A raffle was also held to win a garden themed hamper full of goodies, and for every hot drink and special Greenfingers cupcake bought in the restaurants, plus every Clematis Michiko plant purchased, £1 from each was donated to the cause.
Speaking of the event, Peter Self, Director of Whitehall Garden Centres said, “Whitehall Garden Centres are passionate about supporting the local community, and this opportunity to help provide beautiful garden spaces to some very special children was close to our hearts and something that all of our staff were so enthusiastic to support.”
