Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to two separate incidents which took place on the same day in Melksham.
Firstly an alleged attempted robbery took place at William Hill bookmakers in the High Street between 6.00 and 7.00pm on Saturday 16th May 2015. The offence happened inside the bookmakers, which may have been witnessed by customers inside.
The second incident took place around 6.30pm on the same evening; it’s believed a man was knocked to the floor in the High Street, opposite the Parsons Nose pub.
Police are appealing for witnesses to both incidents. There were a number of customers in the bookmakers at the time and there would have been people walking along the High Street at the time of the alleged assault.
If anyone saw either incident they are asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A Melksham man has been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and GBH. Max Weston (24) from Melksham has been remanded in custody.
