A MELKSHAM mother and daughter will be singing alongside pop singer Lulu in their military wives choir later this month.
Linda Lane and her daughter Donna-Kate Wilson, who are members of Warminster Military Wives Choir, will perform at Komedia in Bath on Wednesday 20th April. Linda is the choir’s music librarian and Donna-Kate is the musical director.
Linda said, “It’s such a privilege to sing with them and especially alongside my daughter – they didn’t have things like this when I was younger.
“It’s lovely going out every Monday to rehearsal and meeting up with other wives of soldiers and veterans. I love the diversity of the group and how they support each other.
“We do a gig about once a month, usually at church halls, small theatres and fundraisers, and I love it when we get a high profile one like the Lulu tour!”
The choir will perform with Lulu on her new single ‘Cry’, which she recorded with a military wives choir and will perform it live with choirs from across the country during her tour.
Linda, who has also shared a stage with Cliff Richard in the past, continued, “I joined the choir three years ago; I was eligible as my husband, Paul, was a veteran having served 32 years in the Royal Navy.
“It was lovely to be able to do something with my daughter and I wanted to support her as well, as she had just been appointed musical director.”
The show will be at Komedia on Wednesday 20th April from 6.30pm.
