A community focused event for women to meet new people and form friendships has been ‘thriving’ this year with attendance numbers bigger than ever.
The group named MyTribe has had five meet ups this year that have enabled women in Melksham to meet once a month on a Wednesday and socialise.
Each event is themed, focusing on topics such as female empowerment, healthy body healthy mind and strong women, amongst others. Speakers are also present, as well as one local business that has a stall and shares information about their work.
Founder and meeting organiser Laura Martin said, “The group has got a real buzz about it and the way people talk about it is really encouraging. MyTribe gives women a chance to meet new women. I have recently moved to Melksham myself and think it’s a fantastic space to meet new people.”
MyTribe began meeting at That Meeting Space in Melksham’s town centre, the space formerly known as The Arthouse Café. However, as interest in the group grew and more people attended each month, they had to move location and they now meet at Melksham Rugby Club.
Laura said, “First and foremost the group is a social event, giving people the chance to meet each other; if people want to network their businesses within it, they can. People make a real effort to talk to each other, no-one is left out and there are even people that have now started to see each other outside of the group because they found out they live on the same road or close by. It’s fantastic!”
Due to the festive season, there is not an event in December. The next group meeting will take place on Wednesday 18th January at 7.00-9.00pm.
People attending are required to buy tickets that cost £12, there are early bird tickets that cost £9.50. To purchase tickets, visit www.mytribe.info/
