Aloeric Primary School celebrated being awarded the ‘Bike it’ Bronze award on Monday 18th November.
Rosie Scammell, a pupil in Year 6 at Aloeric reported, “The award has involved the school engaging in activities to encourage more children to use their bikes or scooters to travel to school.
“The day started where Jo Collett from Wiltshire Council presented Mr Nightingale with the ‘Bike It’ Bronze award. To celebrate the award further the children were entertained by a BMX stunt demonstration by Matti Hemming (A Guinness World Record holder).
“Throughout the day Matti gave a workshop to each of the Key Stage Two classes and spoke to us about stunts and bike safety; we loved it! When he told us he was going to show us some tricks we all looked surprised, we didn’t think that we were going to have a Guinness World Record holder in our school!
“We all stood open mouthed as he performed wonderful tricks to the classes. He then told us that we could all have a go at doing a trick. Most people had a go, it was wonderful. We loved it, even though it was embarrassing when we shook, but altogether it was one of the best days ever.”
