You are never too young – or too old – to learn to swim! That’s the message from Melksham Blue Pool which runs swimming lessons for people of all ages.
“If you have a fear of water, can’t get your face wet or panic about the deep end it’s easy to think swimming is not for you,” says Sara Phelps at the pool.
“The team at Melksham Blue Pool support adults and children to learn to swim and improve their confidence in water from as young as 12 months old up to any age.
“We are currently offering a FREE lesson taster for children aged 5 years and above to build their confidence and to assess what stage they would be at on the swimming programme.
“Swimming and water safety is a key life skill; not only is it fun for children, it is a great activity to keep them active and healthy.
“Children’s weekly swimming lessons follow the ASA Learn to Swim Programme guiding each child through ten clearly defined stages, and there’s a foundation stage for babies.
“Places for People, which runs the Blue Pool, has a home portal system so parents can login and monitor their children’s progress against the goals in each swimming stage.
“During the school holidays intensive swimming lessons are available; the daily repetition really helps children build and consolidate the skills they are learning.
“So as you plan for your summer holiday and consider how ‘pool ready’ you all are, why not enquire about swimming lessons?”
