Yet again BMCC came up against a team who were playing at a much higher level the previous season, but yet again the BMCC players didn’t give up.
Warminster batted first and got off to a steady start as the openers put on 66 before the first wicket fell in the 16th over.
A second wicket fell quickly but all that did was bring the home skipper, Mike Selmes, to the crease. He started to smash the ball to every part of the ground as he added 75 for the third wicket with Saraswat (43) & 128 for the 4th wicket with Daive (47).
Selmes was finally out for 129 after hitting ten sixes and ten fours, as Warminster closed on 318 for 5 off their 45 overs.
BMCC struggled with the bat early on with only Chris Singh (34) showing any resistance as they slumped to 79/5.
The team never gave up as brother and sister Jack (40) and Abi Footner added 55 for the sixth wicket. Abi actually batted for over an hour for the second time this season to keep the home side at bay.
Andy Footner then hit a quick fire 33 as the visitors finally closed on 165/9.
Big thanks to match sponsors Autotech Melksham.
