MELKSHAM’S very own ‘Mr Christmas’ joined a host of celebrities last month to officially open the ‘Ideal Home Show at Christmas,’ held at London’s Olympia.
Local man Andy Park, who celebrates Christmas every day of the year, was joined by television personality Calum Best and celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo to welcome visitors to the event.
Andy said, “Opening the Ideal Home Show at Christmas was very special for me. Working with Gino D’Acampo all day was challenging, he has so much energy and everything had to be spot on. We got on so well. He may be coming to mine to cook me a roast Christmas dinner before New Year – live on ITV’s This Morning. My guests of course will be hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
“There were celebs galore at the show. As I was leaving, Elton John was arriving with Posh Spice, Gok Wan and many more. I also sang ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ by Shakin’ Stevens with one of the international leading tributes to ‘Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons,’ The Other Guys. It was a wonderful day for me, I can’t wait for the next one.
Also, DJ Mike Read hopes to be in Melksham soon and he will be hosting some pop quizzes in a few local pubs, great fun that will be. Merry Christmas everyone!”
