NEW fundraising group, Bowerhill Barkers, has continued with their efforts to raise money for Guide Dogs collecting £100 at a recent event.
The group took over local cafe, Grounded, on the High Street last month, bringing with them guide dog puppies and their very own mascot, ‘Bowser Bill’ (also known as group member Caroline Fielding in a giant dog costume!)
Caroline said, “We had a very light-hearted, fun event today at Grounded. We had lots of wonderful guide dogs and puppies turn up. The youngest was 14-week-old Castle, a black labrador. It was a very eventful day, at one point we had to duck back inside before a swarm of bees caught up with us!
“The manager of Grounded, Tash, was amazingly helpful, as were her fabulous staff. Tash took ‘Bowser Bill’ for a walk and helped raise some money from passers-by. ‘Bowser Bill’ was very popular, especially with children. Everyone enjoyed his dancing and tail-wagging.”
