PROUD Melksham, the new local group for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) community, will be hosting its first ‘meet up’ this weekend.
The group, which offers support, friendship, advice and information to the LGBT+ community, will be meeting at the Melksham Hub Café – located at the train station – this Saturday, 26th June, at 1.30pm.
Local resident, Ryan Clarke, who set up the group, says, “We are so ‘Proud’ to announce our first community meet up! This is a great first opportunity for the LGBT+ community and our allies to come together for coffee, cake and chat, to make new friends and to remember… you are not alone!
“Everyone is welcome, we hope to see you there!”
‘Proud Melksham’ has been launched to coincide with ‘Pride Month’ – the annual celebration of the LGBT+ community that is recognised across the world, with many cities hosting pride events.
