THE two women, Marcia Cottle and Janet Seal, who founded the Melksham Short Mat Bowls Club have now stepped down and a new committee has been formed.
At the club’s final game of the year last month, the members thanked them for all their hard work.
“They raised funds and spent many hours over the last few years trying to get the Melksham Short Mat Bowls Club up and running,” says Wendy Clayton, a member of the club.
“The Covid-19 pandemic caused a long hold up but the club has now completed its first year at the Melksham Community Campus. It is enjoyed by many local people and now has over 30 members.
“The club runs every Wednesday afternoon throughout the year from 2pm to 4pm at the Campus. The new season started on Wednesday 3rd January. Why not come along and see the game in action; new members are always welcome.”
