Famed antiques expert Paul Martin is returning to Melksham next month for a free valuation day.
A familiar face on shows such as Antiques Road Trip and FlogIt!, Paul is running another free valuation day at ‘that meeting space’ in the Market Place following the success of previous events in the town.
The event, on Wednesday 4th February from 10am to 2pm, will see Paul set up ready to value local people’s most cherished items.
Organisers say, “At previous events we have had Lowry prints evaluated and old toys that were valued at £150. Come and find out what your stuff is worth for free.”
Paul said jewellery and watches remain the most common items brought in for valuation. “That’s the classic. They’re portable, small and of high value,” Paul explained. “If it’s jewellery like brooches that aren’t fashionable, pearls that aren’t fashionable, or rings that don’t fit—why have them hidden in a drawer?
“Why not sell them, get some money, and plant a tree, embrace nature, go on holiday—do something for yourself and your family.”
