MELKSHAM Area Board has appointed a not-for-profit agency to provide a support service to vulnerable young people in the Melksham area.
Community Foster Care will deliver an intervention service for 13 to 19-year olds. It is estimated that the service will begin delivery in April this year. Young people will be referred to the service by other organisations. Criteria for referral is yet to be confirmed.
A spokesperson for Community Foster Care, said, “We are really excited to take on this contract with Melksham and we are really looking forward to working with young people here and the area board.
“It will be a referred service for any young people that are identified as needing help.”
In November last year, the area board voted in favour of ring-fencing £10,000 of youth funding for the project.
