THE Arts Society North Wiltshire has been meeting in the Assembly Hall in Melksham for over 30 years. During the Covid lockdowns, they had to resort to meeting on Zoom, but were ‘absolutely delighted’ to be able to return to the Assembly Hall last summer.
A spokesperson said, “We are a friendly group of people who enjoy hearing about a wide range of arts-based subjects. We meet once a month, apart from August and September, to enjoy coffee and catching up with friends from 10am, followed by a one-hour lecture which starts at 11am. The facilities in the hall are perfect, with a wonderfully large screen, good lighting and sound, and our members are able to enjoy lectures on subjects ranging from paintings to architecture to music – all sorts. In the coming months we will be hearing about King Edward VII’s bed, The Art of Trickery and Stonehenge.
“Why not come along for a freebee?! We would be delighted to welcome you to sample one of the lectures for free which, we feel sure, will encourage you to want to become a member. The cost is minimal and currently works out at £4.50 per visit. How about that for a bargain?!
“If you would like to check us out before coming along, go to our website at tasnorthwilts.org.uk”
The group meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 10am for tea and coffee, the lectures then start at 11am. The next meeting is Wednesday 1st February.
