Asda Melksham have handed over £917 to the local Foodbank to pay for the 2019 Christmas meal.
Each year the volunteers at the Foodbank must raise the funds to enable this service to be provided to over 100 members of the community, but they say that this year there is no doubt that the celebration will go ahead thanks to the Asda Foundation.
Lisa Jenkins, Asda community champion said, “This is by far one of the favourite parts of my job, being able to help those who really deserve it. The volunteers give so much of their time and emotion to this amazing group, to be able to relieve some of the pressure and ensure that everyone involved has the Christmas meal they deserve is fantastic – the tears and cuddles when I handed over the cheque said it all!”
