MELKSHAM Comic Con organisers have revealed the names of their special guests as the popular event is set to become a two-day event for the first time.
The event is to take place over the weekend of 30th and 31st August and with preparations hotting up and tables selling fast, organisers feel it “will be the best one yet.”
Confirmed guests include; Andrew Wildman, an illustrator and designer with a quarter-century’s worth of experience in the industry, working in the fields of advertising and publishing, as well as the world of comic books. He is perhaps best known for his work on books like Transformers, X-Men, Spider-Man and Venom. Ian Churchill; who has worked professionally in the comic book industry for 20 years. Debuting on Marvel’s X-Men titles, he went on to illustrate Cable, Deadpool, The Avengers, Superman, Supergirl, Teen Titans, Red Hulk, The Ravagers, Richard Starkings’ Elephantmen and his own group of supernatural heroes The Coven.
Sonia Leong; Sonia is a comic artist and illustrator that specialises in Anime and Manga. Her first graphic novel was the award-winning Manga Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet for SelfMadeHero. She has won several awards for her work, including Tokyopop’s UK Rising Stars of Manga (2005/06), and NEO Magazine’s 2005 Manga Competition. Her artwork is prominently featured in the Brit movie Popcorn (2007), and on the set of Channel 4’s The IT Crowd.
Other guests include John-Paul Bove, Monty Nero, Mike Dowling, Andy Lanning, Rufus Dayglo and Mike Collins.
Tickets are now on sale for Melksham Comic Con with single day tickets costing £7, or £10 for the weekend. Ticket prices are standard for all people and all ages.
