RUBBISH collections in Melksham will be pushed back one day over the Christmas period, and recycling centres will be closed on bank holidays.
Household waste and recycling bin collections will be one day later than usual from Boxing Day, 26th December, to New Year’s Eve, 31st December.
For example, if your collection is due on Monday 26th it will be collected on Tuesday 27th. The same applies to all households for each day of the week.
Normal collection days will then resume from Monday 2nd January.
Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday 26th December until Monday 9th January, when the council will also collect real Christmas trees if left with a paid-for bin.
Household recycling centres across Wiltshire will be closed from 1pm on Christmas Eve, then closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Normal hours will continue on other days.
