MELKSHAM-based rockers, Bite The Hand, return to the Parson’s Nose after a two-year absence on Friday 27th October.
Once regulars on the local scene, things were looking good for the band, with performances at Teddy Rocks Festival in Dorset, a support slot with Paul Di’Anno (former Iron Maiden frontman) and their first ventures into Bristol where they got to showcase their own material.
“It was a pretty cool period for us, we were keen to get an album recorded, conducting interviews for local magazines and it felt like we were winning the battle against some of the promoters that had proved pretty obstructive to our progress,” said band member, Trigger. “We were turning a corner and slowly proving that you don’t have to play the same old songs all the time, the people liked variety – it was refreshing”
Then in January 2016 the band suddenly cancelled their upcoming shows and haven’t been seen since.
“I think it’s generally accepted by most of the world that 2016 was a pretty awful year, but for us in our small little family it was abysmal”
we’ve had two years in which we’ve seen the real dark side and after spending hundreds of pounds trying to keep the band going, reached the point where we had to shelve the whole thing.”
It’s ironic that within weeks of announcing their hiatus, the missing ingredients finally showed up. Now sporting new bassist Ben and guitarist Gaz, Bite The Hand are fully operational and back with some beastly new riffs to serve.
Armed with new songs, and charged with new blood, they say they can’t wait to kick off their new campaign, and what better place to start than their home town. This Halloween’s got some Bite!
