Box were soon regretting their decision to bat as they struggled early on, losing two wickets with just 12 runs on the board.
G.Hayward (29) and S.Hall (51) set about slowly rebuilding their innings with a 43 run partnership before Hayward was ran out. Danger man R.Foley fell shortly afterwards as the game ebbed and flowed and it was finally balanced with the score on 60 for 4 in the 24th over.
D.Sanchez and Hall then added a quick 73 for the 5th wicket before Hall departed. Sanchez went for a quick fire 42, but only D.Crawford (27*) really troubled the scorers as the innings closed on 193/9.
Veteran BMCC bowler Andy Footner finished with incredible figures of 12-7-13-2. BMCC batsmen set about their target in a bit of a rush and as a result lost wickets at a steady rate. Only Ben Brown (66) batted sensibly. Steve Rendell (28) tried to support Brown but once they departed it was left to Chris Singh to try and lead his team to victory. However he was left high and dry on 20* as the last wicket fell off the last ball of the innings with BMCC falling 18 runs short.
Box’s victory was secured by the bowling of D.Crawford 12-2-26-3 and S.Hall 6-0-17-2.
MBCC finished sixth in the Wiltshire Division One. They ended the season with three defeats to Box, Hinton Charterhouse and Urchfont with all three sides finishing above BMCC. Visit www.pitchero .com/clubs/beanacremelk shamc for details
