OVER £3,000 was raised for Bath’s Royal United Hospital cancer care unit thanks to a sponsored walk and a live music event in Bowerhill.
The event was organised by local fundraiser, Tracie Winslow, to mark the 20th anniversary of the hospital’s charity, The Forever Friends Appeal.
Tracie said, “On Saturday 14th September we took part in the sponsored walk and then held a live music event at The Pilot, Bowerhill. There was an incredible turn out, and so far we have raised £3,062.93. The money will be going into the Nicola Robertson Tribute Fund, in memory of my friend who died of cancer six years ago.
“PSG Choir started the afternoon off, then a minute’s silence was held for Lisa Wells. Plan of Action then did a set on the stage, followed by Sound Affects, Sarah Deer and Chloe Brewer singing in the garden, in the beautiful sunshine.
“Heather Kerr and Tyler Bartlett then started the evening music, followed by Burlington Underground getting everyone on their feet. I can’t thank these bands and singers enough for giving their time and giving us such fabulous entertainment!
“Family and friends helped with planning and on the day, special thanks go to Liz Reid, Karen Lavender, Karen Kerry, Lisa Caine, Mary Crowley, Annabel Phillips, Becky Hatfield and Chris Patterson for setting up and manning the stalls. Thanks to Ben Phillips and Yvonne, Ben and Abigail Piercy for delivering leaflets. A medal goes to Paul Winslow for helping with this fundraiser from start to finish!
