BOWERHILL Primary school was visited by the Life Education Centre last month.
The centre provides many programmes that are aimed at particular age groups.
Programmes involve Caring for my Body, Feelings, Meet The Brain, Decisions and many more. All of the programmes are tailored specifically for the age group and explore a range of different topics such as peer pressure, physical and emotional needs and how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Judy Johnson the Life Education centre educator said, “Bowerhill has been great. The pupils have engaged in what I am telling them and they seem excited to come in and listen to what I have to say. They seem to be a knowledgable school which is always great to see and I think they have gained a lot from the Life Bus.”
Life Education Wiltshire is part of a national charity called ‘Coram Life Education Centres UK’. The charity offers health and drug education to children in primary schools. They use a range of different teaching techniques to make the learning enjoyable for the children.
The classroom is equipped with fun equipment to make the learning memorable too, such as Harold the giraffe who informs the children about issues and makes the children remember the important health messages that are discussed.
