PEOPLE filled The Kings Arms in Melksham on 7th August, to support local woman April Taylor, who had her hair shaved off for charity.
April made the brave decision to shave off all her hair to support her brother Ben Reeves who has cancer and is currently going through treatment.
The event was put together by S&S Events, where April works with Hayley Spencer.
They said, “We would just like to say thank you again to everyone who has supported us with April’s Brave the Shave.
“The final total on Friday night topped £2,000 and that number is still growing with online donations still coming in. This will be split between Macmillan Cancer Care and Brain Tumour Support.
“Your generosity, kindness, words of encouragement and unwavering support only shows how much good there is in this world when it can sometimes seem that hope is lost.”
It was a fun packed evening for everyone who came to support. There was face painting, a bouncy castle, a raffle and music from The DeciBelles.
April said, “I honestly couldn’t be prouder of my brother and the journey he has had for a 30-year-old is horrific. I tend to bottle up how I feel as a sister seeing her older brother go through the situation he has, but I seriously love him to bits and hope the outcome of this will be a positive one.”
