BROUGHTON Gifford Bowls Club recently achieved the rare and remarkable feat of winning the White Horse League and Cup ‘Double’.
Having already finished the league season as champions in late August, BG then met Chippenham Tigers in the Play-Off Cup Final on 8th September.
Broughton had a five shot lead going into the 18th and last end, leaving the Tigers the unlikely but not impossible task of gaining six shots to win the game and the Play-Off Cup.
The Tigers fell short of the target, leaving the final score of Broughton Gifford 15, Chippenham Tigers 12.
