A Broughton Gifford logistics company is celebrating its first year as part of Europe’s largest express palletised freight network, bringing advanced transport services to businesses across Wiltshire.
Broughton Transport Solutions provides haulage, palletised freight delivery, and warehousing services, and has marked its first anniversary since joining the Palletways UK network.
“Joining Palletways gave us an excellent opportunity to grow our customer base locally and offer cost-effective transport options for both existing and new customers,” said managing director Toby Ovens.
“Working in partnership with Palletways, this year we’ve added value to our services through its advanced IT systems, including intelligent monitoring and tracking that gives customers live updates on their freight. We aim to grow our pallet transport services by investing in our fleet and our people, and ultimately expand our geographic reach.”
Warwick Trimble, network director at Palletways, said, “Broughton is a vibrant and progressive business, with a great work ethic and a stellar history in the regional haulage sector. We can draw on its experience and local knowledge to grow our presence in and around Wiltshire.”
Founded in 1866 by James and Amelia Mortimer as a door-to-door produce business, the Broughton company evolved into haulage in the 1970s and became Broughton Transport Solutions in 2013. It is managed by Toby Ovens, the eighth-generation member of the Mortimer family and today is a one-stop shop for all ambient and temperature-controlled transport and storage throughout the UK and Europe. The company employs 140 staff and operates 96 vehicles and 130 trailers.
