THE Somerset Arms in Semington is hosting a festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend, packed full of live music, cider, delicious barbecue food – and there’s even a quiz night!
The festivities kick off on Saturday 24th August with live music at 1pm from Sound Affects, a duo who are described as a unique, highly experienced and skilled alternative acoustic musicians, who perform original material, arranged in a classical acoustic format. From 3pm, Somerset Arms bar staff members, Rob and Elly, going by the name of ‘Relish’ will perform together for the first time, singing a range of covers. At 6pm, covers band Peaky Blinders take to the stage with their mix of old and new songs with a rockabilly twist. Closing the night from 8pm is Local Heroes, a rock, punk and indie cover band who have a set list ranging from Green Day to ACDC.
The festival continues on Sunday 25th August with more live music, starting with acoustic solo singer Stuart Saye from 1pm. At 3pm, Somerset Arms’ very own ‘Relish’ return to the stage to perform popular songs. At 5pm, popular rock covers band, Triple JD will kick off the evenings entertainment, before classic indie cover band, Indie’d, bring the night to a close from 8pm.
On Monday 26th August, the Somerset Arms will be hosting a quiz with quiz master Simon Tyler. The quiz starts at 7pm with six people maximum per team.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, the pub will have a barbecue and a wide selection of ciders available all weekend. Organisers say, “Indulge in our selection of ciders and keep hunger at bay with our barbecue!”
