THE New Inn have organised a bumper Christmas raffle with over £1,000 worth of prizes which will raise money for the Poppy Appeal.
Prizes include a 39 inch TV, an iPad, meal vouchers to the value of £80 for the New Inn, a very large hamper, smaller hampers, a ticket for family day at Wookey Hall, champagne, port, chocolates and ‘all sorts of other wonderful things’.
Tickets are £1 each with all proceeds going to the British Legion.
“We’ve chosen that because it’s such a fantastic cause and of the connection between Berryfields and the RAF camp all those years ago, “ said Hilary.
“Plus we’ve got a lot of customers who are ex forces and members of the RBL so the team felt that would be a fantastic cause.
“The draw is on Boxing Day; we’re open for drinks from 11am to 4pm and we’ll be doing the draw around one o’clock.”
This will be the first Christmas for new owners Ronnie Carter and Terry Milne who transformed the pub into a modern contemporary pub and restaurant over the summer. The £150,000 refit has seen a new restaurant extension, a new bar and bright modern new interior, a log fire, an outside garden, as well as sparkling new toilets.
“We’ve been really busy since we opened and have had fantastic support from the local community.
“We’ve organised parties on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve which are ticket only but with no charge for our regulars and the locals around Berryfields, which are our way of saying thank you.
“We’ve got some new ideas planned for next year so watch this space!”
