THERE is still time to get your Melksham-themed Christmas cards and raise money for the Melksham Christmas Lights team, from both Andy York Photography and Zoomi Print in town.
The cards, printed with different photographs of Melksham’s Christmas lights, are on sale to raise funds for the people who put up the town’s light display.
Andy York, based in the Littlebrook Centre on Bath Road, has selected a handful of his own photographs of the town at Christmas for the cards.
Andy said, “We’ve been doing this for a few years now and I think the cards are popular because they’re one of a kind and they have a nostalgic quality. They’re ideal to send to relatives or people who have moved away from the town.
“Christine and I are part of the town as both residents and business owners, and we wanted to help the Melksham Christmas Lights team in our own small way to make the lights the best they can be – if you can find a town this size with better Christmas lights, be my guest.”
Andy York Photography’s cards are A6 size and come in packs of six, costing £3.95. For more information contact Andy or Christine York on 01225 707688.
Zoomi Print in Lowbourne has also designed and printed a set of Christmas cards and is selling them for £1. The cards come with envelopes and are blank inside for you to write your own message.
Managing director Martin Burnett said, “We had a discussion with Alan Weymouth about printing Christmas cards to raise money for the lights and he thought it was a great idea. Then Miriam from the town hall kindly supplied us with an image of the town hall all lit up from a previous year.
“We’ve printed the cards and all the profits will go to the Christmas lights fund. We are more than happy to get involved. The lights are fantastic and every year they get better and better – they pulled out all the stops this year and really excelled themselves!”
