LOCAL fundraisers will be holding a fun day at The Bear next month to help raise money for children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star.
Shelley Davis, Claire Younger and Sue Georgiou will be taking on two 100km walks to raise money in the coming months, and are hoping to boost their efforts with a fun day at The Bear on Saturday 16th May.
Shelley said, “All are welcome and it will be free to come along. We will have a raffle, bouncy castle, BBQ, face-painting, bric a brac, quiz at 4pm, cake stall, tombola, crafts, sponsored wax, and more!
“Hopefully this will be a real community event bringing people out for a fun few hours, and supporting a very good cause which could affect any one of us through our children and grandchildren.
“We hope to raise as much money as possible for for the children and their families, and for this remarkable charity who are celebrating their 25th birthday this year.
“We would also like to thank the many businesses and people who have already donated so very generously, including The Bear manager Matt Humphries for hosting us. The support spurs us on and makes the hard work all worth while!”
The team are still on the lookout for prizes for their tombola and raffle.
