THE winner of the annual Melksham Christmas window display competition has been announced as Goughs solicitors based at number 5 Bath Road with the theme of helping the planet and helping each other.
Claire Hiscox from Goughs solicitors said, “We’re really chuffed to win this! It’s made our Christmas!
“We have created a window display based on recycling and helping each other as we are trying to be greener and want to promote minimising waste. We’re also advertising local places providing help such as the Foodbank. We are collecting food for the Foodbank ourselves, and will make our donation just before Christmas.”
Congratulating Goughs solicitors, deputy mayor cllr Sue Mortimer said, “There were over 30 entries that were all so fantastic and have really brightened up the town, making it look really Christmassy. I was particularly impressed with the recycling and sustainability accept of this display, as it ties in nicely into ClimateFest earlier this year and the council’s plans of aiming for a greener town!”
Mayor of Melksham, cllr Simon Crundell said, “The competition was very tough. Thanks to all the shops who have entered the competition to brighten up our town. They’ve all been fantastic. Goughs, in particular, stood out for the sustainability aspect. Well done to them!”
