THE next film screenings at the Melksham Monday Movies are The Miracle Club and The Railway Man.
First up, on Monday 5th February is a screening of the Miracle Club, a 2023 film directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan and starring Maggie Smith, Laura Linney and Kathy Bates. The film is about a dream for the women of Ballygar to taste freedom; to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes.
The following film is The Railway Man on Monday 19th February.
Starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman and Stellan Skarsgård, the film is directed by Jonathan Teplitzky. It tells the story of a former British Army officer who was tortured as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labour camp during World War II; he discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him.
Doors open at 1.30pm and the films start at 2pm. There is a break for tea or coffee and a chance to catch up with friends, before finishing around 4pm. Admission is by donation with a suggestion of £4.
