ATWORTH History Group has a full schedule for the months ahead.
The group reports, “In January the Atworth History Group enjoyed an excellent talk given by John Salvat when he spoke about the history of Old Sarum and the building of Salisbury Cathedral.
“Looking ahead, on Monday 7th February David Dawson, who is director of the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes, will be talking to us about the Roman ‘Fates’ sculpture that was found in Calne.
“On March 7th, David Ayling, a coin dealer, will be looking at the history of Atworth through coinage, and will be available after his talk to look at any coins that people may have brought along. Please be mindful, though, that there may have to be a time limit on how many he can do.
“We meet on the first Monday of the month (unless there’s a bank holiday, in which case it’ll be the second) in Atworth Village Hall at 7.30pm.
“Visitors are very welcome at the modest cost of £5 for the evening, or you may wish to join for an annual subscription of £15.”
