SUNDAY 3rd October saw the return of Melksham Community Meals.
“This is the first time we have had the chance to get together since we had to cancel our Mother’s Day meal back in March 2020.” says chair, Sue Mortimer. “None of us had any idea it was going to be over 18 months before we met up again. Anyhow we are back and it was great. Lovely to see so many again (58 people) we have all missed one another. We had a few new people as well which was nice.
“Thanks go to Elvy Schofield and Sue Hutchison, our chefs, for all the hard work they put in producing as ever delicious Sunday lunches. We have an amazing team of volunteers without who this would not happen. So big thank you to Kerry, Ursula, June, Pauline, Gerry, Patsy and our two new volunteers Elaine and Christine.
“Thank you to all who came on Sunday; I know from all the lovely comments I received that you are pleased and appreciative that we are back. It makes everyone’s hard work worthwhile. Best wishes to Gilbert and to Wendy and to anyone else that for whatever reason could not make it this time we miss you, wish you well and hope you can join us next time.
“We are already taking bookings for our next meal at the Assembly Hall which is Sunday 31st October 12pm – 2pm.
“We do have room for a few more! For further information and bookings please ring/text Sue Mortimer on 07719 935 883.”
