A COMMUNITY space in the heart of the town, which has become a hub for local people, is open for more groups to meet in the facility.
Located in the Market Place, ‘that meeting space’ is home to some of the town’s much-loved groups, including the Red Door Singers, Nature and Art Friends, Melksham Book Club, Melksham Women’s Institute and The Secret Crocheter.
“The Red Door Singers, who meet on Tuesday afternoons at 1.30pm, enjoy singing together without the pressure of performance and love to welcome new members,” explained the administrator of the space, John Firth. “Christine Argyle spoke for all the Red Door Singers when she said, ‘singing is just so good for you and that meeting space is so cosy and intimate’.”
“Other groups like the Nature and Art Friends, Melksham Book Club, Melksham Women’s Institute and The Secret Crocheter have made ‘that meeting space’ their home too. A Tuesday morning drop-in from 10.30am to 12pm has fostered some deep friendships since it began three years ago.
“The Bereavement Journey, held regularly at ‘that meeting space’, has been an incredible help to many who have struggled to come to terms with the loss of someone precious in their lives. Register now for the next course, beginning at 2pm on Monday 9th September.
“The central location of ‘that meeting space’ in the Market Place with its easy level access has made it ideally suited for special events like Paul Martin’s upcoming Free Valuation Day on Wednesday 11th September and for pop-up exhibitions.
“Whether you are looking for a regular meeting place or just a venue for that one-off gathering, ‘that meeting space’ is there to help you get things moving. We’ll provide the support you need to establish your group.”
