Melksham defeated Marlborough II 12-30 at their home ground.
The visitors pressurised them from the off with a powerful range of attacks forcing 3 consecutive penalties all slotted by Ali Smith. All the play in one direction, Melksham piled on the pressure with Ben Brown forcing his way onwards then passing to Alex Cox whose power wasn’t to be denied. Taking the score to 0-16 at the half.
The restart sparked hope for the home team with an intercepted pass to cross the whitewash for their first points. Adam Davies redressed the balance for the visitors with an elusive run, stepping defenders to score. Smith adding the extras. Ben Brown received the final pass in a good passage of play following strong yards gained by Matt Glover for the final away try of the game converted by Smith.
Marlborough plugged on, finally rewarded with a converted try to close the game 12-30.
