Cubs from ten different packs within the Wiltshire West District took part in the annual chess tournament, which took place earlier this month at the Melksham headquarters.
During the tournament, each Cub played six games. Oliver Charles-Jones from Broughton Gifford & Holt Cubs was crowned the winner and awarded the District Shield. Alexander Green from Warminster Cubs secured the runner-up position, while Dylan Hobbs from the First Bowerhill Cub took third place.
All winners received medals, and every participant was awarded a certificate for their involvement.
The district lead volunteer, Chris Broom, said, “The day was busy and very competitive and it was a very close-run competition. It was once again a great success and enjoyed by everyone.”
