
A CRUMBLING shed in Melksham’s biggest park could be knocked down soon, the council has confirmed.
Local people complained to Melksham News in 2015 that the building in King George V Park, which was used as an equipment store by former county contractors Balfour Beatty, is an eyesore.
At the time Wiltshire Council, which owns the building and the park, was considering what to do with the building, but recently confirmed it is hoping to demolish it.
A council spokesperson said, “Subject to planning permission being granted, we are looking to demolish the storage building in the King George V playing fields. If permission is granted then we’ll look to carry out the work in the spring, but that is subject to change.”a
