Shell Court in Atworth has thanked would like to take the opportunity to thank “all the wonderful companies in Melksham for their kind donations’ towards their Dorothy House Tea Party which was held on Tuesday 24th September.
Sheltered housing support officer, Vanessa O’Rourke said, “We had an amazing turnout of people who enjoyed a fun afternoon of sandwiches, tea and fabulous homemade cakes. The silent auction was a great fundraiser with vouchers from Leekes of Melksham and Morrisons, as well as an overnight stay at the Somerset Arms. The large hamper raffle and not least, the wonderful cakes made by the residents, made the afternoon a great success. Thank you again to my wonderful residents and everyone who supported the day.
“A wonderful £550 was raised and I had the pleasure of handing it to the community fundraiser for the hospice, Verity, who was delighted and very thankful. Dorothy House is an amazing charity, very close to my heart.”
The West Sheltered Housing Support team together raised over £1,700 for cancer charities and held eight tea party events in one week.
