Christine York said, “Earlier in the year I was looking for gifts to stock for Christmas and came across some Fair Trade picture frames and photo albums. Amongst the products were items made from elephant dung.
“Although I found it amusing at first, when I saw the products I was very impressed with the quality of the frames and albums. Also, it is helping towards the conservation of elephants. The paper is made from 75% elephant poo and recycled paper by a charity in Sri Lanka, in the grounds of a foundation that cares for sick and disabled elephants and promotes their plight.”
Amongst the items in stock which include picture frames, photo albums and paper blocks is a colouring book telling the story of how the paper is made.
