The twelfth running of the annual Foxtrot Five road run is coming up on Sunday 21st August starting at 11am from The Common in Broughton Gifford, and entries are now open.
The course is certified as accurate by the AUKCM and lends itself to some fast times. The current course records are 25:21 for men, set by Simon Nott of Calne Running Club in 2013 and 27:52 for ladies set by Amy Chalk of Bristol & West AC in 2008.
The course is also very scenic as it winds through the West Wiltshire countryside and takes runners past the National Trust property of Great Chalfield House.
Prizes are on offer to the winners of the V40, V50 & V60 age categories. There are also prizes up for grabs for the first men’s and ladies team which last year saw close contention between local rivals Avon Valley Runners and Chippenham Harriers with the awards being split. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal of the event.
