Melksham Messy Church family continues growing, as over 90 children and adults met on Sunday 28th January at Forest and Sandridge School for the first event of 2018.
The theme of this month’s session was the story of Abraham and Sarah, and how we are all part of God’s family. The children got messy creating a giant handprint painting, making their own star constellations and making cards for friends and family members. They also wrote prayers on stars to hang on a prayer tree.
Hannah Tarring, Melksham Messy Church organiser and regional coordinator for Messy Church in Wiltshire said, “Messy Church is ideal for families who have perhaps never been to church before but want to engage with their faith in a family-friendly way and are looking for something a bit different from the traditional church service format.
“Today it was wonderful to welcome families old and new to our church – it is a great opportunity to get families from the community together.”
The next Melksham Messy Church is on Sunday 25th February at 4.00pm-5.30pm at Forest & Sandridge School, exploring the theme of Lent. For further information please contact Hannah Tarring: hannah tarring. cfm@outlook.com or visit Melksham Messy Church Facebook page.
