Melksham Comic-Con’s third event will be taking place in a matter of weeks.
The fearless, tireless, indomitable Brians (the Convention’s volunteer staff, so named to make it easy to get help when required!) would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone just what is in store for them at Melksham Comic-Con’s first ever weekend-long comics extravaganza.
Special Guests! – MCC is committed to bringing you terrific guests from the world of comics, and this year is no different! Andrew Wildman, John-Paul Bove (Transformers), MontyNero, Mike Dowling (Death Sentence), Sonia Leong (Manga Shakespeare), Ian Churchill (Revenge), Andy Lanning (Guardians of the Galaxy), Rufus Dayglo (Tank Girl), Mike Collins (Doctor Who), Lee Townsend (2000AD) and Gary Erskine (Knights of Pendragon) will all be appearing at this year’s show!
Exhibitors! – As always, MCC will have a wide range of businesses and independent creators displaying their wares for attendees to pick up. Treat yourself to the very best in independent and small press books available (including Disconnected Press, long-time MCC friend and supporter Jon Lock of Big Punch Studios, and Melksham’s own Dillymarno Designs!), as well as a host of comics and merchandise from local businesses KomiX Melksham and Automattic Comics and Toys!
Panels and Discussions! – In response to attendee demand, MCC has massively expanded its lineup and guest panels and discussions. Moving into the town hall building, panels will be taking place throughout the entire weekend, covering a huge range of topics, including building a career in comics, a brief history of comics, translating into other mediums e.g. TV, and comics and mental health.
Competitions! – For the first time, MCC will be running art competitions for children and adults! Come along and show off your skills, and stake your claim on the prizes that will be given to the winners! Also, MCC will be hosting their first-ever Cosplay Competition! Impress the judges and take home a trophy that proves your sewing skills are sharp and on point!
This is just a taste of the fun that will be on offer on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August, at the Melksham Assembly Hall. The Brians of MCC can’t wait to welcome you all to their biggest ever event, and look forward to seeing you!
