THE Pig and Whistle pub has live music, its charity breakfast club, its first ever dog show, and its monthly bike meet, all coming up in the weeks ahead.
On Saturday 9th July, it’s time for another fantastic Saturday night gig in the wonderful garden at The Pig, this time with covers band Sour Apple, from 7.30pm to 10pm. Sour Apple comprises Katra and Suzie, an enthusiastic and energetic female electro-acoustic duo performing disco, soul, pop and rock covers.
On Saturday 16th July, 9.30am to 2pm, the pub is hosting its Charity Breakfast club. The monthly club helps to raise awareness for local groups and collects items for the local food bank. The pub says, “We will have our trolley open for collecting any non-perishable goods to pass on to the local food bank. So join us for a full English or just a breakfast bap (veggie and kids’ options available) and a catch up. Tea and coffee is available on donation.
Also on Saturday 16th July, from 2pm to 5pm, the Pig is hosting its first ever dog show, to raise money for charity Guide Dogs UK. Entry is £2 per category, and there will also be a barbecue and live music. The pub says, “All dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times and don’t forget to bring your poo bags!”
On Thursday 21st July, the pub is hosting its monthly bike meet for all 2 wheeler enthusiasts, from 7pm to 9pm. The bike meet is held on the third Thursday of each month.
The pub says, “Come on down to chat about all things bikes, grab a bite to eat, a beverage or just a chance to get out on your bike for a social. For more information please get in contact with The Pig: info@pigandwhistlemelksham.co.uk.”
On Sunday 24th July, 4pm to 7pm, there is more live music with an Elton John tribute act with all his greatest hits from the 1970s to the present day. The pub says, “Experience the magic of this unique rock n roll legend with classics such as Rocket Man, Your Song and Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. With flamboyant costumes inspired by the great man himself the Elton John Experience will be sure to get you singing and dancing along to the music.
