PRESENTER of the BBC’s ‘Flog It!’, Paul Martin, will be auctioning off pews at a Seend church next month, to raise money for a refurbishment project.
The Church of the Holy Cross in Seend will be holding a silent auction and an auction of promises on 4th October to raise funds for a major project to improve the church’s facilities with a water supply, a servery and a toilet.
Paul Martin, antiques dealer and TV presenter, will be auctioning some of the pews from the church, which are being removed to create more room in the building.
Church spokesperson, Tony Ewin said, “Paul is resident in the village and is delighted to support the event as auctioneer.
“The Diocese and conservation organisations are helping to bring the church up to 21st century standards without prejudicing any of its wonderful history.”
The silent auction of smaller items will start at 3pm. The promises and pew auction will start at 6.30pm. Light refreshments will be available throughout.
