ANTI-social behaviour and speeding have been at the centre of police activity this fortnight, reports local police sergeant James Twyford.
About recent activity in the 14 days up to Monday 20th September, Sgt Twyford reports, “The crime picture is much the same as previous weeks, with 60 crimes and a further 180 Incidents attended over the last 14 days.
“We’ve had a report of anti-social behaviour in King George V Playing Field and a report of a disorder in the Littlebrook Centre. We’ve added the Littlebrook Centre to the ‘Priority Patrol Area’ that already covers King George V Playing Field.
“We are really pleased that there was a successful bid at the Area Board, to fund a CCTV camera to cover the skate park area and we’re grateful to the councillors who’ve supported this from the outset.
“Community Speedwatch have been operating in the Woodrow Road area and our new enforcement officer has been in the area to further support this initiative. Woodrow Road has been a problem area for some time, so we’ll continue to conduct speed checks in that area.
“There was a disorder in the early hours of 19th September in Crescent Road. There were reports of noise and disorder, but those who were present, were unwilling to provide statements. If anyone has information relating to this incident which could help our enquiries; we’d be keen to hear from them.”
